On March 28th, CAPNCM held a VOICE program for the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students of Lathrop Elementary School.
During a VOICE, elementary-aged school children visit six career stations where they learn about different occupations from real-world employees. Each station represents a career area that schools and the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education try to implement recognition and exploration of, including the arts, business & technology, agriculture, heath and human services, and industrial careers. After learning about each career area, children vote on their favorite station and discuss their experiences, and are encouraged to continue the discussion at home. If your school is interested in holding a VOICE program of your own, please contact Traci by calling 855-290-8544 ext. 1080 CAPNCM participated in Network Advocacy Day on March 26th. Various non-profits and agencies came together in the Missouri Capitol building in Jefferson City to meet with government officials and raise awareness about the current state of poverty in Missouri and across the nation.
