The Federal Poverty Guidelines are issued each year in the Federal Register by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). The guidelines are a simplification of the poverty thresholds for use for administrative purposes — for instance, determining financial eligibility for certain federal programs. The poverty guidelines are sometimes loosely referred to as the “federal poverty level” (FPL). View current guidelines.

As part of its on-going mission to lessen poverty across Missouri, Community Action Partnership of North Central Missouri is currently conducting a Community Needs Assessment. The purpose of this assessment is to help the Agency better understand the current state of poverty within their nine county service area. The information gleaned from this process will help CAPNCM improve current anti-poverty efforts and help them build future programs designed to target the biggest problem areas facing the residents of Caldwell, Daviess, Grundy, Harrison, Linn, Livingston, Mercer, Putnam, and Sullivan counties.
CAPNCM would like to invite all members of the community to participate by taking a brief online survey regarding their thoughts and views on poverty in their area. Respondents are free to complete as much, or as little, of the survey as they wish. No personally identifying information is collected as part of the survey or used in any part of the final report produced by the Community Action Agency.
