We will be closing the office today at 11am for our company picnic. Regular business hours will resume tomorrow (Tuesday, June 28th) morning at 8am! Don't forget! July will see our new compressed work weeks begin too. Starting in July, we're opening at 7:30am - 5pm, closed all day on Friday. Help us in sending out a big thank you to the Hy-Vee stores in Bethany, Trenton, Unionville, and Chillicothe for holding the "round-up" fundraiser for our agency in May! Those funds will be put to good use fighting poverty in our area.
We have 11 Community Scholarships left. Open to both traditional and non-traditional students planning to continue their education, the CAPNCM $1000 scholarship will be available to full-time, income-qualified residents of Caldwell, Daviess, Grundy, Harrison, Linn, Livingston, Mercer, Putnam, or Sullivan counties. The Area Governing Board of Green Hills Community Action Agency will hold its regularly scheduled board meeting on Tuesday, June 14th at 7:00 p.m. in Trenton. Items on the agenda include meetings of the Finance, Public Housing Authority, and Personnel committees, review of financials, and updates from all agency departments. Scheduled business will cover revisions to financial policies and procedures, as well as PTO and salary schedules, and an update on the PHA administrative plan; while old business will be limited to a strategic plan update. This meeting is open to the public.
Summer Energy Assistance began June 1st. Summer EA can help with ELECTRIC SHUT OFF NOTICES ONLY.
DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE DAY OF YOUR SHUT OFF NOTICE TO SEEK ASSISTANCE. If you were approved for Winter EA, and have NOT moved, you DO NOT need to fill out a new application. If you HAVE MOVED since you were approved for Winter EA, you WILL need to fill out a new application. Summer assistance can ONLY be used for electric bills with a current shut-off notice.
